JRI Orthopaedics Ltd does not market and has never manufactured a metal on metal hip replacement. Between December 2007 and January 2010 JRI Orthopaedics did distribute a metal on metal hip replacement manufactured by Comis Orthopaedics Ltd. Of the 50,000 metal on metal hip replacements reported to have been implanted in the UK only 209 were supplied by JRI.

JRI first introduced the Furlong total hip replacement in 1985. Since then it has been implanted in over 200,000 patients worldwide. The well documented long term results demonstrate that it is one of the safest and most clinically successful hip replacements available today.
