We are pleased to announce, that with immediate effect, Joint Replacement Instrumentation Ltd. will now be officially known as JRI Orthopaedics.
The change in company name reflects our commitment to enhance clinical outcome in joint repair and replacement for patients of all ages.
There is no change to our Company ownership or management structure and we will continue to provide the same excellent products and services that our customers expect.
JRI Orthopaedics Ltd remains wholly owned by Orthopaedic Research UK and we continue to honor our annual gift aid donations to benefit orthopaedic research.

New Appointment - Non-Executive Director
JRI are pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs Sarah Harkness to the JRI Board as a non-executive Director.
Sarah Harkness comes to JRI with many years experience as a director of an NHS Trust and Strategic Health Authority. She has a financial background and is a member of the University of Sheffield Council.
On behalf of the Board of directors and all employees we welcome her to JRI and look forward to the benefit of her wide experience.
Maioregen Instructional Course (Bologna, Italy)
JRI are pleased to announce the following MaioRegen instructional courses, held at the Rizzoli Institute, Bologna under the direction of Professor Marcacci Wednesday 09 March 2011, Wednesday 13 July 2011 and Monday 19 Sept 2011.
Agenda includes: product design rationale, overview of current cartilage repair techniques, clinical indications and results, live surgery – knee cartilage repair, and delegate case studies.

Orthopaedics and Implant specialist JRI named among the top manufacturers in the North East
JRI was among eight companies from the North East region to win EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
JRI received the Environment Achievement Award, for securing benefits from environmental savings.
Andy Tuscher North East region director of the EEF, the manufacturers organisation, said "Manufacturers make a valuable contribution to the economy of Yorkshire."
"Companies such as JRI send a clear message that there are successful, highly skilled and innovative companies across the North East that will help drive the future wealth creation across our region."
Vaios - Best New Product Award
We are delighted to announce that JRI have won the best new (mechanical) product award at this years British Engineering Excellence Awards for the Vaios Shoulder system.
These awards celebrate the very best in British engineering and we can all be very proud that JRI has been recognised for the VAIOS shoulder system.
This has only been possible because of an excellent collaboration between JRI, Professor Garth Johnson’s team at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and Professor Angus Wallace in Nottingham.
The British Engineering Excellence Awards recognise the engineering excellence of both large and small UK companies. The BEEAs showcase a wide range of British design engineering successes among in-house design teams and design consultancies across the manufacturing and engineering disciplines. The BEEAs confirm the fact that the UK leads the world in engineering design and innovation.
JRI launch a New Modular Shoulder System
Professor Angus Wallace (on the right of the picture) was the Chair at the recent Satellite launch meeting of the New Vaios Modular Shoulder System at ICSES in Edinburgh.
Vaios is designed to offer maximum versatility, allowing the surgeon to adapt intraoperatively to meet the patient's clinical needs, whilst minimising the components and instruments required.
